The Atlantic Basin
remains relatively quiet. We see no chance for tropical development
through this weekend. A tropical wave along 53 west, south of
11 north continues to move west at about 5 degrees longitude per
day. This tropical wave will bring the Windward Islands more clouds,
showers and gusty winds later tomorrow and Saturday. Strong upper
westerly winds will help prevent this system from becoming organized
as it moves into the eastern Caribbean this weekend. A
tropical wave along 90 west has moved west into the eastern Pacific
and will no longer be a feature to worry about in the Atlantic
Basin. An upper level system extending from the northern
Bahamas south southwest into the southwest Caribbean is causing a
large elongated area of clouds, showers and thunderstorms. This will
affect eastern Cuba, Hispaniola and parts of the Bahamas through
this weekend. Conditions at most levels of the atmosphere will
remain too hostile for tropical development within this area of
disturbed weather through the weekend. However, heavier rainfall
that could lead to localized flooding could affect parts of
Hispaniola through this weekend. |
